INSPECTION PLANNED at 7am Saturday Morning
Having assessed conditions at 11am, there has been a modest reduction in the height of the water level in the dykes, which has happened because the river level is also receding, albeit gradually at the moment. These improvements have yet to lead to a significant change in the volume of the water sitting on the racecourse, but we are at least moving in the right direction. It will require all the essential elements to work in complete synchronisation; we remain hopeful that the race meeting will take place, but at this stage there are no guarantees. To that end, we have decided to hold an inspection of the racecourse at 7am in the morning to determine the prospects for Saturday afternoon’s fixture.
