2018/19 Season ‘Millbry Hill’ Leading Jockey Award in Close Contention

04th April 2019

With just one fixture remaining in Wetherby’s 2018/19 Jump Season, the leaderboard for Leading Jockey has four Jockeys in contention with just 6 points between them.

Harry Skelton is currently in front, but  Danny Cook, Brian Hughes and Sean Quinlan are all stalking closely.  With 6 points awarded for a 2nd place ride the competition is fierce and the leaderboard could change completely on Thursday 11th April.

Phil Kirby has had a cracking season, his horses have been flying and not just at Wetherby.  Phil is currently 38 points clear of Dan Skelton in 2nd place in the Leading Trainer competition.  Dan would need four winners next Thursday to get in front.  Depending on his entries next week it could be possible, but is it likely?

Thomas Dowson has the Conditional Jockey award in the bag; 35 points clear of Connor Brace lying in 2nd.

It will make for a very exciting day next week if all in contention have runners or rides; if they do we wish them all the best of luck.
