We are excited to announce that CGC Event Caterers is now operating as Legends Global!
Wetherby Racecourse has partnered with Yorkshire-based caterer CGC Event Caterers (formerly CGC Events, formerly Craven Gilpin & Sons) for over 40 years. Throughout this long-standing relationship, the company has grown and diversified while consistently maintaining the high standards developed over decades.
In 2015, CGC Events was acquired by SMG Europe to enhance their food and beverage offering, and following a series of international mergers and acquisitions, CGC Event Caterers is now part of Legends Global.
This marks an exciting milestone as two world-class organisations come together. Legends Global is a leading provider for the world’s premier live events, venues, and brands. They deliver comprehensive venue management services, operating sports stadiums and entertainment venues globally, and overseeing everything from operations and bookings to food and beverage, retail, and sponsorship.
Despite these developments, their commitment to racecourse catering across Yorkshire—including Wetherby—remains unchanged. They continue to pride themselves on using the finest local produce, offering everything from elegant seated dining with champagne receptions to relaxed buffets and barbecues. Their focus remains on delivering an exceptional experience from arrival to the final furlong, whether on a raceday or during one of our many non-racing conferences and events for which they provide catering and management services for throughout the year.
Importantly, many of the same experienced team members remain in place, including front-of-house staff, chefs, catering managers, and senior leadership. Clients at Wetherby Racecourse, can therefore be assured of receiving the same outstanding levels of hospitality and service that they have come to expect.
This new chapter reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences at Wetherby, and together with the Legends Global team, we look forward to building on the strong legacy of excellence that Craven Gilpin & Sons originally forged.
