Wetherby Redevelopment 2016

18th July 2016

Last week the engineers were in to lay out the foundation pits and plot the sites for the bolts that the steel frames will eventually sit on.

The foundations were dug out and 72 cubic metres of concrete arrived through the week which was poured and levelled.

The newly concreted foundation pads with the anchored bolts that the steel frame for the building will be affixed.

this week, the steel will be arriving so heavy machinery back on site and hopefully a bit more exciting for all us onlookers….

Elsewhere on site, the heavy machinery made short order of demolishing the A1 Bar, which came down and was level in just over 24 hours.

Before…..

And after….

And the diggers are making short work too of the remaining rubble from the buildings, which is being re-used to hard-core the Bookmakers Car Park.

Next week, we will keep you up to date with the progress the groundstaff have made with the fences and track over the past few weeks, and hopefully we will have some steel in the ground to show you!

Weather is looking good for the week ahead, so enjoy the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival at our fellow Yorkshire Tracks this week and Go Racing!
