Annual Badge Holders

Corona-Virus update for Annual Badge Holders

Following our last Badge Holder update on 16th April, we now know that our final fixture of the season, scheduled for Tuesday 9th June, has been cancelled by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA).  However, the BHA are working on a plan for the resumption of racing and will be issuing a revised fixture list in the very near future, which may or may not include Wetherby.  As we said previously, it is very disappointing that we have had to cancel a number of race meetings during the current season due to Coronavirus – we have now lost 5 of our 19 fixtures – and we still do not know whether we will get any replacement fixtures during the summer when racing resumes, but as each week passes we must begin to accept the reality that is looking less and less likely, especially following Prime Ministers announcement that there will be no Live Sport for Broadcast until 1st June.  At this point in time, we can only reiterate the advice given in our last update that, until we know the full extent by which the current 2019/20 racing has been affected by the Coronavirus, we are unable to provide you with details of how badge holders will be recompensed, however, we will endeavour to let you all know as soon as is practically possible, but please rest assured that Badge Holders will be provided with some form of compensation for the loss of these fixtures.  Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.”
